Review SummaryWe like the atmosphere of a smaller ship. The Prinsendam holds about 830 passengers, most of whom are elderly. Very few children where on the ship on this cruise. We asked for and received an early seating assignment which we enjoyed over the open dining option. Our table service and dining room service was excellent. Food choices were varied, and sometimes we would opt for the standard options rather than the main menue. Generally the food was well prepared and tasty. The exercise equipment was usually available, even though there were only four sets of treadmills. Equipment was modern and in good working order. we were disappointed with three ports of call. The stop at Mayaguez Puerto Rico was at a shipping terminal, and taxies were required if you wanted to go anywhere. After discussion with others, we stayed on the ship. On Dec 26, at Port of Spain, Trinidad, floods on the island cancelled our beach excursion, and the port itself did not seem to have any open shops or other reason to go ashore. At St Thomas, a US island, we did not enjoy the long and expensive taxi rides to beaches which were restricted in use. Others may enjoy this island but we did not.
Pros: Friendly Crew and Cleanliness
Cons: Three ports of call: Mayyaguez, Port of Spain Trinadad, St. Thomas USVI
