Review SummaryAfter reading some of the negative reviews before our cruise, my husband and I were not expecting very much; but this was one of our very "best" cruises. We are senior citizens and have taken numerous cruises.
The ship is beautiful, spacious, colorful, easy to navigate, etc., etc. Our first night sailing, we had a noise problem in our cabin on the 10th deck. After advising the staff the following morning we were relocated to the 9th deck, same size and even better location. The staff was willing to do all our packing and move us, but we did not feel that was necessary. The service in all areas was outstanding. We ate at a different restaurant each night and one seemed better than the first. If I HAD to chose one, it would be the French restaurant. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly, accommodating, and eager to please. Our room was serviced twice each day. We did not utilized room service as we liked the food so much in the dinning areas. We had salmon each morning.
We did not do any ship shore excursions as we rented a car in each port of call and for us that turned out to be a wise choice. We did do a shore excursion (Pearl Harbor/Arizona/City tour) on the day we departed. We spent another night in Honolulu and did a fun loving luau for our last night in paradise. NCL has the plan that you can ship your luggage from the ship to the final destination for $19.95 pp. We would have taken advantage of this great convenience, but we went back to San Francisco, spend the night and rented a car for the remainer of our trip out west. We live in Florida and this was our first trip to northern CA and we were not disappointed. If you chose Pride of Hawaii, I surely hope that you have as wonderful time as we did.
Ports of Call
Pros: I liked everything; especially "Free Style Cruising."
