Just returned from July 3rd sailing. Nice ship though some would consider gaudy decorationing theme - I did. The best part was Hawaii itinerary with lots of time in port (off the ship), Na Pali coast tour, and night cruise of lava flow on the Island of Hawaii. This was our 8 th cruise the 1st with Norwegian. Service was poor in the dining areas, best in the steakhouse ($15 extra per person). Must make reservations or will be turned away from specialty resturants and (make these on the 1st day at any specialty resturant). The mexican resturant was a joke (flour chips - no corn chips in site), the italian not bad, steakhouse was good but not Del Frisco. Don't expect any level of service, coffee refills or a clean table at the buffet line it just won't happen. The Grand Pacific service persons had obviously never worked in anything better that Denny's and expect at least 1.5 hours to get lunch with small portion so you have to then go the the dreadful buffett to get filled up. Never met my stateroom attendent though did adequate job except that it took 3 request to get my toilet seat put back on the toilet, something the attendent should have noted when cleaning the cabin between cruises. Crew members were observed drunk on the back deck one night and at least one was fired at a port and bags dropped on the pier by one of the officers. Suggest you wait and keep up with posting to see when NCL America get the kinks worked out prior to booking this ship unless you are more interested in seeing Hawaii than the "cruise experience".

Pros: Hawaii

Cons: inexperiencec american crew
