If you had no other cruise or cruise-lines to compare with this ship could perhaps be rated "OK". If you had other cruises to compare with then you would perhaps feel a bit strained with that rating and go lower. The overall experience just didn't say, "WOW! Let's do this again!" It was rather like going for dinner at a fast-food restaurant which filled you up but didn't really do the job. After visiting with many other travelers whom had cruised before we also felt that "FreeStyle" was like SouthWest Airlines ... basically a "cattle-call". The travel arrangements made by NCL if you had to fly to a port definately lacked any attempt by them for your input unless you paid extra and then you could probably have done better by making the flight arrangements on your own

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Freestyle cruising leaves something to be desired. The buffet had noticeably better food than the main dining room where there didn't seem any incentive for even satisfactory service.
Food was cool to touch and wait-people could have cared less.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff didn't always appear to know what was going on. They were helpful in suggesting that you contact someone else. The ship's internet cafe was a nightmare at best as their server kept disconnecting/freezing up.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
General public areas could have been cleaner. The ship's store definately offered very little.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We were upgraded. Only after we made a comment was the room made up before noon.

Pros: If you had not been to Hawaii previously, this is a good way to visit and getting an overview of the main islands.

Cons: If you have cruised before on other cruiselines, then perhaps your comparison would put NCL's Pride of Hawaii at the bottom of the list relative to food and general cleanliness of the ship.

Recommends Pride of Hawaii? No.
