Great islands ... but disappointing food

Sail Date: May 01, 2006

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We were on the inaugural cruise in May...the itinerary was island was better than the next. Beautiful ship!
Room with a balcony was good size. Room steward(ess) was great - always willing to assist us and keep our room neat and clean. The food was terrible! Repetitive and often took over an hour to get our meals. This happened routinely. In general, the staff complained alot ... we wondered whether they expected that they were on vacation! I worked hard to save for this trip and we didn't get our money's worth! We will take another cruise line next time.

Pros: the itinerary and our room steward

Cons: the food, complaints of stap

Food and Dining
The worst part of the trip... we enjoy the food on cruises but not this time! The wait was long and the quality fair to poor. We heard that the upscale restaurants which you paid extra for were better. But we didn't try them.
Service and Staff
Excellent room steward and found a two waiters and a waitress who were friendly. Otherwise, the crew seemed unhappy and disgruntled.
Fountains was fun. The Hawaiian show was good and they were friendly.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
only had liquid soap
