Review summary

There's nothing really special about the ship itself, but so what! You're there to visit the islands, not the ship. The islands do not disappoint! The ship is your floating hotel, and is clean and comfortable with good food and good evening entertainment. The crew was friendly and helpful, especially our cabin steward Kristaly. The only problem we had was that our balcony door would not open when we first got to our cabin, but a couple of guys from maintenance came quickly and installed new rollers on the door. 30 minutes later, we were good to go! If you want an exciting cruise ship experience, there are other ships that offer more on board activities. But I can't imagine a better way to visit the Hawaiian islands, especially on your first visit.

@KLBway We are from the eastern time zone, so we went to bed around 8:30 because we were so sleepy. But we were free to do whatever we would have liked. Most of the ports are industrial, so there isn't much to do right around them.

We've done this itinerary twice and it's our favorite. It's the only US chartered ship that gives you seven full days around the Hawaiian islands. KLBway, there are so many different excursions you can do on all the islands but to answer your question about overnight ports, they allow you to participate in multiple excursions. In Maui, we've done the self guided road to Hana on first day then on second day did the daylight Haleakila volcano and downhill bike tour. In Kauai we did the Kipu Ranch Adventures Waterfall Tour on side by sides then on day two a self guided tour of Waiamea Canyon. For the self guided tours on the islands we downloaded the "Shaka Guide" Apps which used your rental cars gps location to narrate and highlight key overlook areas.
