This was our second NCL cruise and we were not disappointed. The POA was very nice and our suite was spectacular. Everything and every place throughout the ship was kept very nice and clean. The top two things that really placed this cruise in the \"excellent\" category for me and my wife was\, (1) the wonderful service we received from the entire staff but especially\, our concierge\, butler\, steward and the wait staff in Cagney's. Everyone went the extra steps to ensure we enjoyed the islands and that we had a wonderful 32nd anniversary trip.And (2)\, the specialty restaurants. The food was great\, as was the service.

Very impressed with the food and service provided at the specialty restaurants. However\, the one time we tried one of the main dining rooms (The Skyline)\, the food was mediocre and the service was very slow - surprising since the dining room was no where near half full during the time we were there.

The shore excursions were a bit disappointing in what was offered. It seemed to a lot of the same type tours at each stop. As a result of researching the excursions and reading the reviews prior to the trip\, we opted to rent a car on Maui and on the Big Island and go on our own. At Hilo\, we saw so much more than the people on tours and the rent car price was well below what we would have paid for tours to see all that we saw. For us\, this was the way to go\, Especially\, after listening to other passengers complain about the excursions they went on. All seem to say the same thing regardless of the excursion - all felt rushed\, the tours poorly lead and overall\, not that interesting. We also went on our own by foot shopping at Kona and that was a easy and enjoyable day. However\, the two tours we did take\, the Kauai Luau and the Pearl Harbor/USS Missouri tour were definitely \"do not miss\" activities and well worth the time and cost. Also\, no bingo or casino.
Service and Staff

We can not begin to say enough about the eager and friendly service we received from each and every crew member and staff we met. Everyone treated us as if we were the only passengers on the ship and really went the extra mile to ensure we saw and experienced as much as possible on board and on the islands. Great Job by all!!!

Clearly\, the crew and staff of the POA take a great deal of pride in their ship. This was evident in the cleanliness and upkeep of the ship. The layout works well as there was very little crowding or waiting for anything (elevators included) even though there were nearly 2\,200 passengers on board.
Cabin / Stateroom

We do not know how our accommodations could have been any better. The suite was terrific and extra large balcony\, wonderful. It will be hard to cruise any other way in the future.
