Great Fun!

Sail Date: August 01, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We sailed on the Pride of America and the Aloha back in 2004 and the staff was not good. This trip on a freshly refurbished ship the staff was wonderful\, helpful and seemed happy. All were very helpful. The ship was great\, the captain kept it smooth. No other American registered ships and this is a great way to get to know Hawaii.

Pros: The Ports

Cons: Parking rental cars on overnights-very far to walk and in Kauai a fee.

Recommends Pride of America? Yes!

Service and Staff
Many went above and beyond. Brain and a new woman assistant were so wonderful in the buffet area. Joe who gives coffee refills was a \"hoot\"! Made my mornings. Dionne at the front desk was so helpful and Aretha at the Cadillac diner made our evening.
Cabin / Stateroom
We loved our aft balcony. Only bad part was to have others above us looking down.
Food and Dining
The food was great. We ate alot at the buffet which seems to close way too often. The Cadillac Diner was nice. All night \"free\" pizza would be wonderful for a quick bite. With room service you have a $5.00 cover charge. The pizza is small.
Ship Quality
The ship was always clean and appealing to the eye. Only a very few rusty spots on a constantly moving ship. The internet is so slow and always way more expensive than it is worth!
