Cruise was good, but not 'great'

We just returned from a week on the Pride of America. The ship is in beautiful condition, but the food and shows left something to be desired. The 'free style' cruising idea seems to bea pretty good, but there are moments when I regret doing it this way. The food in the Aloha buffet was just 'so-so' with instances of slow omelet stations, food undercooked (as is the case with a prime rib night) and some dairy not kep cold enough (resulting in watery yogurt).
The shows in most part were great during the Christmas cruise except for the first night with some comedian from MTV who was terrible.
Be prepared to pay an extra 12 dollars a day per person for their so-called 'service charge' as well as extra $$ for specialty restauarants. I see that only as a profit ploy by NCL; we've already paid a lot of money upfront for the cruise, why sockit to us again with extras?
I also think some of the shore excursions were a bit overpriced.

Pros: Beautiful Ship, decent cabin.

Cons: Food leaves something to be desired, preset tips in some specialty restaurarants

Recommends Pride of America? No.

Food and Dining
Aloha cafe/buffet was terrible. Watch out for undercooked food and not cold dairy products.
Cabin / Stateroom
Staterooms were small, but beds were very large and comfortable. Showers were barely large enough to turn around in, though.
Service and Staff
Staff was helpful when asked, but did not seem to go out of their way except in one case in one restaurant.
Entertainment
Hawaiian ambassadors were good! They taught hula, put on shows, and were good directors. Other shows such as Second CIty troup were outstanding!
Ship Quality
Ship was very clean and easy to get around in. There were plenty of signs to where we wanted to go.
