Totally Spoiled Now!

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This is THE best way to see Hawaii! It was like staying in a fantastic floating hotel where the staff goal was to make sure that you had the best experience possible. Everyone was made to feel special and the entire crew from deck hands to the Captian inquired about your wants or needs.

Pros: We loved the total freedom to sightsee, eat, or relax. There were no wrong choices.

Cons: You had to really make an effort to meet other people if you were not traveling with a group.

Food and Dining
Naturally in Hawaii the fresh fruits and salads were wonderful. We enjoyed the Aloha Cafe because of all the choices and relaxed dress code. The lunch hamburgers were so big and delicious we had to skip dinner one evening. I saw many a waiter headed to the bar to bring back a specialty drink or wine for guests. Nothing we ate was bad at all,but a little more spice might have kicked everything up a notch.
Ship Quality
We found everthing spotless. The
americana decor made a nice change from the constant Hawaiian theme but the island flavor was well mixed with it so that you didn't forget where you were visiting.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was well planned with ample storage and good use of the space. We will probably never cruise again without a balcony to enjoy. Sleeping with the balcony door open and listening to the sound of the sea was so very relaxing.
Service and Staff
We were greeted by almost every staff member we saw from the deckhands to the captain. I listened to a guest complain about not seeing "the lava flow" and the staff member patiently explained why and yet at the same time consoled the guest for having to miss the event.
There were many choices of on board, and too many choices of off board things to see and do. Of course they pushed NCL sponsored tours but also would steer you to other activities if asked.
