Nice Itinerary, poor food and service
Pride of America Cruise Review to Hawaii
Review SummaryThe cruise staff was new and inexperienced. I was glad we upgraded to a penthouse suite. However, upon arriving in our suite, we discovered that the bathroom was dirty (chunks of hair in the shower and a dirty toilet) and the sheets had stains. We called to complain, but it wasn't until our butler stopped by (several hours later) that action was taken. Service in the main dining rooms were terrible; very slow took an hour for dinner to arrive one night and breakfast was slow and order had to be sent back twice. Not to mention the food selections in the main dining rooms was limited and not very tasty. Food in the "pay" restaurants was better, but the charge was $10-$30 per person. Not what I was accustomed to after cruising in the caribbean. Islands were great. Don't pay the ship for tours, rent a car, or find someone once you dock; it's much cheaper. Also, not enough pools and only two out of the five jacuzzis were working consistly. Only one out of the two got hot!
