The ship itself was nice, however, the staff wasn't as service oriented as on other cruise lines, probably due to the fact that they got their tip - no matter how their service was. The food was terrible and selections were very poor. As far as the Free Style Cruising, I think it is for the birds! I'm sure the flexibility is something people enjoy but the lack of service is a major issue. You don't have the same waiter each night therefore you don't get the customized service as on a regular cruise. The itinerary was wonderful and a nice selection of shore excursions, however, we just rented a car and saw what we wanted on our own. That was alot less expensive.

Food and Dining

Temperature of food was poor - cold steak. Variety was lacking and too many specialty restaurants where you had to pay or make reservations at the beginning of the cruise or you didn't get to eat there.

Entertainment

Shows were on the same level as high school drama performances. One good comedian show.

Service and Staff

Since their tip was guaranteed, and not on their performance, I think there was an attitude of not caring. Our room needed some attention and it took 2 days to get things done.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Much smaller than other cruise ships staterooms.

Pros: I liked the island itinerary!

Cons: The food and service was not at all like a cruise should be!

Recommends Pride of America? No.
