The dullest cruise we have ever been on

Sail Date: March 01, 2006

Room Type: Balcony

This cruise was suggested as a beautiful, new ship with open seating which we enjoyed as we were a group of twelve. We went to see as much of Hawaii as we could get into ten days. If you decided to take a day off as a tourest and stay on the ship, there was nothing to do with the exception of going to the pool, the spa, or take in a movie. We found shops to be closed most of the day and early at night. There were eleven dining places on board, six of which cost an additional amount above your cruise fare. The free dining rooms were booked so quickly, if you were a first time traveler on this ship and waited until the second day to book a reservation to a nicer "free" dining room, there was little chance of a reservation. We found the ship to be dirty in several areas and our cabin was not clean upon arrival , or anytime during the cruise. I sort of felt like we were in a cheap hotel. The cabin stewarts and the wait staff were not happy if asked them to clean the ice tongs or get a dessert spoon; in one case we were told that was not their job description and they were unionize. I was very dissappointed by this American run ship and will spend my money with another line on our next cruise.

Pros: open seating

Cons: the could care less attitude of the staff, after all they are unionized as they told us

Cabin / Stateroom
nice layout, not clean.
Ship Quality
Nice size, good layout, not extremely tidy or clean.
Service and Staff
going above and beyond didnt happen
Many of the activities booked we were told were cancelled, when we called the promotional group hosting these excurtions, we were told our ship hadnt delt with them in months. So why was this offered??
Food and Dining
The food was very good, wish we could have tried more dining areas as six out of eleven we had to pay extra for, and the inclusive ones were booked right away.
