This experience was not up to the standard of cruising that I've had in the past with other cruiselines. The ship shuts down at about 10pm with only one location open for all who want to stay up (kids, teens, adults, etc.) There is really nothing to do on the ship after the first night. Dining is horrible! They don't tell you that the buffet is only open for limited hours. There are no midnight buffets, no ice sculptures, no dessert buffets. Dining room service takes forever to be served. You often don't get what you asked for and they never come back to see if you like your food. They ran out of lobster on lobster night, so some did not get the dinner that was promised. You actually have a pager given to you to wait sometimes for dinner. Several times we had to leave dinner before it was finished (because it took so long to be served). They force the gratuity service charge on you and will not remove it from your bill. Therefore, employees have no incentive to work for you because they know their gratuity is waiting for them regardless. The entertainment was basic. Not outstanding like on other cruiselines. They have found ways to get more of your money (forced gratuities) and reduced service. If you enjoy the cruising experience and being pampered don't do this cruiseline. They really don't care if you are pampered or not.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Average food, but the service was very slow. They never came back to see if you liked the food. Most all on the ship were unhappy with service and overall experience.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Very basic entertainment.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
It was very obvious that the staff often hear from unsatisfied cruisers. They appear to have a blank stare when they are confronted with a problem.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
It really wasn't very clean. They do not pay attention to details. The pool area lounge chairs are very used. The deck floor and stage area are very dirty.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Very average

Pros: Hawaii

Cons: The service and attitude of the employees

Recommends Pride of Aloha? No.
