Pride Of Aloha--mostly positive

Sail Date: February 01, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

This is only our second cruise, having cruised on Royal Carribean a few years ago. This ship was very nice. Based on some of the reviews we had read, our expectations were not high. However, the room (with balcony; I highly recommend) was just fine for two people, and very clean.
Botched shore excursion on day 1 could have ruined our trip if we'd have let it, but we didn't! The cruise staff seem to be very young and not very experienced or particularly well trained. Always had to "get a manager", who was residing somewhere in a back room. Since they always had to consult this manager, one wondered why they didn't get up and come to the front desk and handle things on their own. The staff were all smiles and friendly, unless you really wanted something handled. Despite this problem on our FIRST day, our cruise was overall a positive experience, despite some minor glitches. We knew this was not a luxury cruise...we wanted this freestyle experience to see as much of Hawaii as we could. This was the best way to do it, and we're very glad we chose this cruise.

Pros: Balcony views

Cons: NCL's inability to resolve problems easily

Recommends Pride of Aloha (RETIRED)? Yes!
