Wonderful trip, with a few tweaks that would make it even better. Disembarkation was crowded, inefficient and lengthy, unfortunately ending the trip with a bad memory.

Review summary

Please serve sweetened Ice Tea. Sugar does not melt easily in cold tea. The Main dining room needs an efficiency review because Much too slow. Servers very often carry one little item , disappear for long periods and are inefficient! They are well meaning and pleasant but need a manager with good organizational and efficiency skills to make it work smoothly.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Efficient and Quick. It would have been helpful to know that the stated 4:30 embarkation. time was not correct and that we could embark anytime after 12 noon.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the Main Dining room for dinner. Wait staff were pleasant and tried very hard, but we experienced very long waits at times during dinner. They would mysteriously disappear, take a very long time to get something like coffee with dessert ( after we finished) etc. We often saw the walking around with one item to serve some far away table. There is a striking need for a manager with good organizational and efficiency skills to help guide and train them, in what with then become Outstanding service. Specialty restaurant, 150 Central Park was very good. We would have liked to know whether we were expected to add a gratuity or whether that was included in our general trip gratuity. All servers were excellent. Please add SWEET tea to your free selections, sugar does not dissolve well in cold tea!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Great choices mostly. Our adult son and fiancé enjoyed most of them. The long waits for some esp. surfing were discouraging .

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Long waits for some if you did not reserve. We really enjoyed the Rocky, Rock and Roll program and would have loved more of that. Cats show lacked interest, because of poor narrative core, even though performers performed very well. Found ourselves bored and irritated. The Sky Show was again well performed but an incoherent, poorly written narrative, amateurish production, we left early. We enjoyed the Frozen Ice skating and the Aqua show, these did not rely heavily on a coherent story line.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service personnel are pleasant and friendly. The Main Dining Room would have been truly wonderful if the managers had figured out how to make it more efficient. We had 10,15 and 20minute waits for simple things like coffee with desert, milk for coffee, between courses, or baggy bag requests.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, extremely well designed. The cabin corridors would benefit with more color, esp. to help distinguish locations on ship, like front rear, left ,right. etc. That would be an inexpensive esthetic upgrade and a great aid to navigating the corridors. Perhaps a simple color stripe to distinguish locations?

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent, clean, well designed pleasant cabin, well located. Bed was lovely and very comfortable. Excellent Stewart.

Ship tip

Pack lightly, take rest breaks, skip ports, don’t buy extras. Preregistration for shows etc. Avoid the excursions.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

2 out of 5
Crowded. Long lines to disembark. We had an 8 hour window before our air flight and wasted a lot of time trying to figure out a good way to see the city and deal with luggage etc. The advertised Tour bus for about $60 per person for a brief tour and stop at a shuttle to airport was probably the best available arrangement but did not seem like a good arrangement for the four of us. We went to airport to check luggage and encountered a very inefficient and overpriced kiosk, since Frontier Air would not check luggage more than 2 hours before flight. From the airport we wound up with a novice taxi driver who dropped us in the wrong location. Unfortunately we had poor cell phone service and a dead battery on the phone with an Uber lift App, and so wasted a lot of time walking in uninteresting areas . Should have preplanned day in Miami better, but found info confusing and hard to locate.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

2 out of 5
Dock area crowded and full of unwanted buying “ opportunities “. We were pleased that we did not fall for the excursions, which looked uninteresting and overpriced., eg. snorkeling was a tiny beach area with nothing interesting to look at...no corals, no fish etc. Sitting in the little strip of crowded beach on a beach chair and being served a drink and lunch at high cost was not interesting. We did walk along the beach and found a free bench to sit but chose to return to the ship for lunch.

Falmouth, Jamaica

2 out of 5
Crowded with a lot of stuff for sale.

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
Crowded with a lot of stuff for sale. We encountered a very aggressive man and woman who were handing out samples of collagen skin cream who we found rather outrageous with their sales techniques, prices etc. They claimed some health benefits from the Dead Sea in Israel that were clearly bogus.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Very crowded, breakfast service in Main DR very slow and disorganized.

Glad you had a good cruise. Thanks for the great review.

Always all about the planning. Also lunch at Labadee costs nothing, nor do beverages if you purchased a drink package
