Perfect for a Couple's Cruise

Sail Date: August 13, 2016

Reviewed: 9 months ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We've sailed with four other cruise lines - all for different reasons - and found that this was the best one for adults. Yes, there were Dreamworks characters on-board, but the ship was really geared toward people who were looking for a quiet, relaxing trip. There was no overbearing music on deck, or "mandatory" dance parties (when the staff would highly encourage people to join in). We could always find even more peace and quiet in places like Central Park (love the crickets sound-effects after sundown) or the back of the ship once the waveriders were done for the day.

The food was amazing and the shows were nop-notch (especially the diving show). The staff was very attentive - from our cabin attendant to the cafeteria workers.

There was always something to do, but there was much less pressure to "be involved" than the other cruise lines gave, and the TV was an excellent resource for booking activities, getting info on ports, and checking our daily schedule.

Cruise Photos

Cabin / Stateroom
Far enough below the spaces that have late-night activities and high enough for a great view.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Onboard Activities
The only thing missing was a sail-away party on deck; and official "I'm on vacation, world!" send-off would have been nice.
Children's Programs
The nightly shows were excellent, but if you go see the comedians "preview", you can skip the show they do all week - it's the same stuff (but with swearing).
Service and Staff
Food and Dining
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Columbus Cove was quiet and had a peaceful lagoon, perfect for swimming. Get lunch early - the good stuff runs out quickly.

Try the Park Cafe roast beef sandwich and book the shows early. Go see the comedians in their "preview show" and skip it later in the week - more time for the Jazz Club or Casino.
