Awesome Ship!!

Sail Date: June 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship is huge and had a great variety of things to do and places to eat/relax. The ship is beautiful overall. Despite the large crowds things moved well. We rarely waited long for an elevator.

Pros: Spectacular cruise, wide variety of activities, very smooth ride, comfortable rooms, great service, checking in and checking off the ship was much easier than anticipated.

Cons: Pools very crowded (but hot tubes were no problem), too much of pool deck dedicated to smokers St. Maarten was a disappointment.

Recommends Oasis of the Seas? Yes!

The shows on the ship were fantastic across the board. The basketball/sport court was very popular-our son could always be found there!
Service and Staff
The staff throughout the ship was great. Everyone was exceedingly helpful. The only exception was the shore excursion booking staff which did not seem to have the time to review the available options, only book something which you already had selected.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had an exterior balcony-the room was bigger than I expected-my last RCCL was on the Majesty of the Seas and that room was very tight! Bathroom/shower was also roomy for a cruise ship.
Food and Dining
The Winjammer cafe was always crowded and chaotic, but the staff was great. The dinning room was better than expected-good not great. The wait staff was, again, great. The italian specialty restaurant was worth the extra $, very good food-endless quantity. To escape the crowd @ the Winjammer eat @ the Boardwalk cafe-great food for breakfast/lunch/dinner-great salads for lunch-less crowded/chaotic. The Starbucks kiosk was very popular.
Ship Quality
The show venues were fantastic, comedy club was a great setting compared to a fairly empty large theater. Agua theater was unique. The fitness center was fairly well stocked-limited weight machines but plenty of treadmills/elipticals. The jogging track circles the ship @ the level of the life boats and offered a unique view-much better than the small tracks on other ships.
