Oasis of the Seas

Sail Date: March 12, 2011

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

Because of the number of people the crew had to service, it lower the quality of the
service. Dining experience was devalued because dress codes were not enforced.
Not enough staff for teens - particularly at beginning to facilitate introductions and participation. Food was the same for breakfast and lunch every day - no variety. Dinner was a disappointment.

Pros: The Aqua Theater

Cons: The number of people on the ship

Recommends Oasis of the Seas? No.

Ship Quality
The ship is too big and there were crowds and lines everywhere. it was a zoo. The concept of inside staterooms with balconies is good.
Food and Dining
Dress code not enforced. Short shorts allowed at dinner every night including formal night. Kids ran wild in dining room - it wasn't dining - it was a noisy cafeteria.
Service and Staff
Everything is contracted out - got a lot of "not my job" answers when we asked questions. Customer Services desk was good and helpful.
Aqua shows were very good. Ice skating was good. Come fly with me was good. Rest was poor. Where were the magicians, jugglers, comedians.
Children's Programs
Needed two sport courts for teens and basketbalol.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was very nice. Attendant was average - kept forgetting our ice. Nothing special.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
We played golf and it was great - although again the tour staff from the ship was very disorganized and this time we were late and rushed - no time for lunch to to late arrival which was definitely tour staff issue.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Zip line was very good. They aren't kidding when they say you need to be physically fit...definitely a requirement.
Nassau, Bahamas
Too short a stop; tour started too early in morning when it was still chilly. Went to Water park, got there at 8:4r5 and it wasn't open until 10 - a waste of time and money as we had to leave at noon to get back to the ship.
