This was my very first cruise, however I did travel with another family who have been on 5 other ships. They were not impressed and neither was I. I always have heard about NCL's great cruises, this was somewhat lacking. Embarkation was a very quick. It could not have even been 5 minutes from stepping off the bus and onto the ship. First apparance of the ship was stunning. It was not as large as others, but it looks very elegant. From the moment we stepped on the deck somewhere was there ready to show us to our rooms. My friend and I had an inside cabin while her parents had an outside. Before I cruised I was very hesitant to have the inside but I was rarely in the room anyways so it did not make much of a difference. The staff was very nice and eager to please. The other passenegers were very under dressed. The Bistro was always full of people in t-shirts. When I asked the matre d' why this was he said that some left them at home. He should not have let the people in. The bistro is always next to the piano bar. Listening to "New York, New York" during dinner is not my idea of fine dining. Overall Freestyle Cruising is HORRIBLE! We had to make reservations every night so we wouldn't have to wait in line for more than 1/2 hour. I would have prefered the regular two seatings. The staff who worked very hard, always seemed to be overworked because of this freestyle concept. NCL should have more staff members aboard to do this. The food on the boat was good, however it was used over and over again. DISEMBARKATION!!!! HA WHAT A JOKE! It took us two hours to get on a bus. NOT A WAY TO END A CRUISE! SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT NCL! Overall, a very nice cruise with a very nice staff. The islands were terrific also. I dont think I will cruise NCL again, probably RCCL or Princess.
