Fine for what we paid...

Sail Date: April 01, 2006

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

The Norwegian Wind is a fine ship, we never felt crowded. We were the last voyage before dry dock, so we felt as though we weren't getting the best of what they had to offer. We don't care for the free style cruising. I prefer to have the same waiter throughout a cruise and that is not really an option on this line. But for the price we paid, we were perfectly happy.

Pros: The Cabin was spacious, the layout of the ship nice, The pool side bar staff great!, daughter loved kids crew...

Cons: Food selection not great, late night option only pizza, no real drink specials, NO CASINO!

The shows were all great. Not much offered during the 6 sea days we had. We were on a Hawaiian cruise and felt the lack of a real Hawaiian presence in the entertainment around the ship. Very repetitive classes offered.
Children's Programs
Our daughter loved the program, but I would have liked to have seen them leave the club room more.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
We felt as though they were cleaning out the pantry and freezers of leftover food before they went to dry dock. They actually had macaroni and cheese on top of spagetti sauce for an entree in the dining room one night. Many of the dessert items were not available or had changed to something other than what was printed on the menu. Not great food in general.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had our daughter with us, and the cabin was fine even with 3 of us in it.
Service and Staff
The dining room staff was not very good, but the bar staff definatly went above and beyond, which is the exact opposite of our last Norwegian cruise.
Hilo, Hawaii
We didnt' take an excursion in Hilo.
Nawiliwili, Kauai
Should have spent 2 days here instead of Lahaina. Kauai is the best by far!!
Don't Miss: Every square inch is a don't miss!!!
Lahaina, Maui
