Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I expected a lot more options in the ship’s main dining rooms. The quality of the food was below par! The buffet had far better options, however, even the quality was not what I expected as NCL is supposed to be known for their appeal to their “foodie” guests. There are other restaurants aboard but pricing is extremely expensive (I.e. 3 course dinner at steakhouse started at $79 per person). The Main dining room on the ship is located on deck 5 and we could feel the boat rock the entire service. If you get sea sickness do not eat in main dining room.

Topsiders Bar and Grill

4 out of 5

In the aft of boat with gorgeous ocean views while sailing. There is a bar. Downside: you’re outside and subject to climate changes.

Seven Seas Main Dining Room

Staff is rude and you can feel the boat rock back and forth. Food quality is not good.

Ginza Sushi

4 out of 5

Top quality in taste and appearance. A bit pricey.

Casino Bar

4 out of 5

Large space with several options for your gambling needs.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools are nice but left lots of people wishing for bigger spaces to swim and lounge on deck. There are a lot of shops to appeal to every guest. We found a library and a family game room where we spent two nights for a while playing scrabble, Yahtzee, and even monopoly. There are several bars and lounges throughout the ship that cater to families and older crowds alike. The piano bar was nice. There is also basketball courts and a casino for adults. A favorite was the art gallery.

Galleria Shops

5 out of 5

The galleria shops offer several different venues to shop. They have a jeweler, general gifts, wine and spirits, and art.

Basketball / Volleyball Court

5 out of 5

Large area and lots of space for people to play the sport.

Entertainment

Stardust Lounge

5 out of 5

Lots of seating to sit and watch NCL production cast shows, we even went to a comedy show by Alex Ortiz. Also they do gaming such as deal or no deal and Bingo.

Observation Lounge

5 out of 5

Beautiful area with a bar especially at night. The ambiance is low key and easy.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Ok so this is where it gets tricky. Jasper the cruise director was amazing. He was super friendly and accommodating and made each guest feel welcome and involved. The staff guy when entering the dining room known as “washy washy” was hilarious! Always smiling! Some of the staff in the dining room and buffet area were not friendly and seemed uninterested in helping guests. The housekeeping staff was great. Very friendly and left us funny little animals for our turn down service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean. There was always a staff member with hand sanitizer spraying guests hands when entering where food was or upon re-entering ship after a shore excursion. The ships layout is easy to familiarize yourself with. Not hard to navigate. I do wish the buffet was arranged to more of a guest friendly design. It was confusing trying to figure out which way to go.

Ship tip

Don’t expect superb food unless you’re willing to pay a hefty price at one of their restaurants.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Initially after getting off ship at this port we waited to be picked up and transported to our shore excursion for a “beach hideaway”. The area where we get off ship is industrial and from what we seen even when en route the island is run down and delapitaed. Our driver told us he island was not safe. The beach hideaway was gated and secured which we thought was odd but it was to ensure our safety. I rated this a 4 because the beach was gorgeous and the staff here were great.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Beautiful island with magnificent beaches. We snorkeled and ride a jet ski. Staff was amazing. Perfect beach day!!!!

Nassau, Bahamas

We love Nassau. The shopping is great. We went to Atlantis resort for a day and did the aqua adventure so we were able to ride the slides and different attractions. Atlantis is worth the price. The beach is breathtakingly beautiful. The sand is white and the sea is the clearest sea blue/green.
