General overview? Great trip! Now for the scoop on the poop.

Upon entering the ship a STRONG Port-A-John smell filled every stairwell area, that odor NEVER left the entire cruise. It would also drift into the Seven Seas dinning room. Just outside the same dinning room the restrooms were overflowing into the foyer/stairwell area causing the crew to roll back the carpet and padding to "dry" the carpet and sanitize the floor.

One evening upon returning to our cabin, the sewer had erupted from the sink and shower drain in our cabin. The top of the sink's counter, closed toilet seat, floor, and even the toilet paper was soaking wet! Our cabin stewardess came immediately and "scrubbed the crap" out of it, changed all towels, shower curtain, and replaced the paper products.

It was also over spring break. Some people complained about the drunk spring breakers, we NEVER had any problems with them.

My issue was more about  the lack of deck chairs available for use. This is the very first cruise we have never found any open deck chairs available. The Upper Aft deck didn't even have 1 chair or chaise longer on it. So many people were just putting towels on any open space on the deck to sun themselves.

Now for the positive!

This is our 6th cruise, 3rd on Norwegian. The crew was super accommodating, the cabin was the largest non balcony room we have ever stayed in. There was a King sized bed with ample room to walk beside it, a 6 ft sofa with 3 ft of leg room before the edge of the bed, 6 ft of closet space with more clothes hangers than we needed, 6 drawers, a linen style cupboard, and stocked dorm room  refrigerator.

Our cabin stewardess Jo Ann was the best!

The food in the general restaurants were some of the most flavorful we have eaten on a cruise. We only ate one evening in an additional charge restaurant, and that food and salad bar were outstanding.

Would I recommend the Norwegian Sun? Yes, but only if you're OK with an older ship that has a few plumbing/septic issues.

This is an accurate pic of the room, they just can't capture the septic smell in the stairwells!

Ship Tip

If you're and old grump, don't cruise over spring break! Lot's of spring breakers, but I didn't have any issues with them!

Spent the day with Belizian friends, personally don't like Belize City, so we wen't to the Belize Zoo, and then to Old Belize for lunch.

Ruins were great, best guide ever, He is an anthropologist , but the private resort/beach on a lake was the BEST!

Isla Paradise was nice, but 3 hrs was NOT long enough time to relax there.
