Alaska was the best place ever and the Norwegian Sun helped to make it that way. Staff was great, food better than average for a cruise, and the small ship (less than 2000) was much nicer than the mega-ships we've been on before. The only complaint is that it seemed the room accommodation was smaller than normal even for a cruise ship. If you are large size, you won't be able to get into the rounded shower and probably wont be able to get to your bed easily either. We didn't know there was going to be a convertible couch in the room too for a 3rd person (we didn't have one) and it made the tiny room even smaller.
Food and Dining

Above average for a cruise ship; lots of fresh fruit that was excellent and vegetables too. Dining Room better than the buffet; Specialty restaurants worth the money. Only complaint: why when there are vacant tables near a window are guests not seated there? Is there some unstated "reserved" thing going on based upon who you are or what level you stay on?

This was a BIG surprise: usually the entertainment from our experience isn't that great but this time, it was much above average. The comedian was a riot, the illusionist and especially the acrobatic act was good too. The NCL music and dancers surprised us as well and they were very good. Cruise Director very involved and visible throughout the cruise - something we haven't seen in the past on other ships.
Service and Staff

We've never been on a Norwegian ship that didn't have great staff and this was true on the Sun as well although this group seemed to have a better time with each other and perhaps the smaller size helped to made for a better multi-national relationship. All were great.

Clean, sanitary, nothing to complain about here!
Cabin / Stateroom

Clean and nicely decorated but too small; Refrig with stocked items for purchase was nice and not overly priced but some of the other cruise lines now offer this included in price.
