We just returned from the NCL-Sun cruise to the inner passage of Alaska. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruising experience, however tne 3 stops we made, Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway have become very comerciallized because of the number of cruise ships that dock there this time of year. 53 Jewelry stores in one port is a bit much. So, we took escoursions off of the ship and they proved to be the right choice for us, as we did and saw a variety of things beyoud the port towns. The food and entertainment of this ship was very good, and they always had something going.
THE BEST PART OF THE NCL LINE IS 'FREE STYLE', AS MY HUSBAND REFUSES TO 'DRESS UP" WHEN WE ARE ON VACATION, SO THIS IS PERFECT FOR HIM, NO SUIRT OR TIE. (YEAH)

Pros: Not having to dress up and chooseing when and who you want to eat with.

Cons: Having pictures taken all the time, eventually just told them we didn't want any more pictures

Recommends Norwegian Sun? Yes!

Ketchikan, Alaska
Eagles, Eagles everywhere, make sure you get out of town for the best viewing.
Don't Miss: Totem Poles
Skagway, Alaska
Small, small town only 800 full tiem residents here at this port. A must is to take the White Pass train, the scenery is beautibul!!
Don't Miss: Train ride
Juneau, Alaska
take the optional excursion to the glaciers, you get on a smaller boat that gets up close and personal with the glacier, whales, ice bergs and sea lions. you meet up with your ship 5 hourse later and it is a wonderfull experience
Don't Miss: Glsaciers
