Review summary
This was our first cruise. We went to help with my father who has difficulty walking. I had called to arrange a wheelchair for embarkation. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the wheelchair to be brought to the parking garage. While checking in, the person helping us was called back to the ship. It was very difficult to push my Dad up the gangway. I did not get any further help from the crew until we were on the ship. With disembarking, we went to the area we were to go to get a wheelchair. There were only two employees to help about 10 people with wheelchairs. After more than an hour waiting, we finally had to call and ask several people for help before we got a wheelchair. This time my father did have assistance all the way to our vehicle. Now for the good. The ship was beautiful. The food was wonderful. I do not like the upscale restaurants with an upcharge. Normally it is $10 to $20, but for Valentine's Day, it was increased to $45. Our first port was Costa Maya. We went to the Jungle Beach Break and had a wonderful time. I saw several huge starfish. The next port was Santo Tomas DeCastilla, Guatemala. At the port they have a shopping area with numerous vendors and beer for $1. My favorite port was Belize. My stepmother, sister, and I went to the Dolphin excursion. We took a tender to Spanish Lookout Cay. There we were greated by Neff. He did an excellent job. Gave us a brief history of Belize. We took another tender to the other side and had a wonderful encounter with 2 dolphins. I have not been on any other dolphin encounters so I cannot compare, but I thought this was wonderful. After being with the dolphins, we walked back. I found a beautiful picture to take of cabana chairs sitting on the white sand next to the beautiful blue water. This picture will sustain me through the rest of winter. Our last stop was in Cozumel. We had planned to go to the Playa Mia Beach Break, but the wind caused all water activites to be cancelled. Our money was refunded by NCL without any problems. So we took a taxi ride for $20 a piece. We went to some ruins and to the other side of the island to a beach. After that, we just went shopping. The Jean Ann Ryan production company had three performances during the week and these shows were not to be missed.Ports of call
