My family and I just got home today from a horrible vacation aboard the Norwegian Sun. We were supposed to go to Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatan and Cozumel for 7 nights. 1. Even though there was a hurricane in the area, the captain decided to go straight in the path and everyone in our family was sea sick. My 8-year-old little girl was throwing up for 2 days straight. He could have went another direction but it was too much trouble apparently. 2. The Kids program....WHAT kids program? We were told that there was a great activity program for kids. What a lie. They put these kids in a room....way up front of the ship where it was really rocky. They color. They watch movies. They don't leave the room. What a joke! 3. They decided NOT to port in Grand Cayman because of the weather. DUH! They didn't realize the hurricane was coming? These are supposed to be professionals. So instead of swimming with Stingrays at $50 per person, we played bingo for $49 per person in an overcrowded un-airconditioned room. 4. No decent activites on board. Bingo, big deal. The last day of the cruise they advertised a $9 bingo. That is ONLY if you play one little paper card. If you really want to play, it was $49. What a scam! 5. Beans and weenies to eat unless you want to pay for the upscale restaurant. Cold food at the buffets. Stuffed peppers was served twice in a week. 6. Entertainment that was mediocre at best. Even one of the entertainers claimed that they had to do their own sound -- they were disgusted...imagine how the guests felt? 9. The only good thing was that the waiters and housekeepers were nice, but we ended spending over $5,000 for the whole cruise....drinks are expensive, shopping on the ship is expensive, everything was expensive. This was our second cruise and our last cruise with NCL. We went on Carnival's Sensation two years ago and had a blast.
