May was just a fabulous time to go cruising in Alaska. There was plenty of wildlife and numerous shore excursions to chose from. We had excellent balmy weather and were constantly surprised how well port towns accomodated cruise ship guests. I totally DISAGREE that buffet food on The Norwegian sun is substandard. We loved the food because it was always unique in choices of fish that the chef prepared with delicious sauces and coatings. Breakfast was always something to look forward to because of smoked seafood choices, crystal clear vistas and helpful personnel. There are definitely employees from ALL over the world but that too was a plus to our family in that crusing is to see the world AND its people. Norwegian Lines had talented high energy staff. An expert on glaciers was on board and very informative. We enjoyed the nightly shows, won at bingo and even watched an art auction. Boarding and disembarking the ship was VERY painful and slow in Seattle. We had a great time and look forward to cruising the Gulf of Alaska next.
