We've cruised with other lines so can compare this ship with other cruise lines. We were dissapointed with the service of the staff. Other lines you feel catered to, this one they kept pushing you to spend more $$. They had 8 resturants, 5 you had to pay extra to eat at. I assumed this would be an all inclusive vacation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
the 2 main sit down resturants that were included in the price had the same menus so it wasn't really a "choice" of which one to eat at. The other sit down resturant had a great idea, "cooking light" menu but it was the same menu for the full week. Other ships we've been on change the menu daily, not this ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
the entertainment was enjoyable, also we took advantage of the gym and streching classes which were NOT an extra fee. The spinning classes, yoga did cost more.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
They did not bend over backwards to make you feel speical. Other cruise lines cater to the customer better. Holland America is our favorite.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
the layout of the ship was nice, it was very clean too.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We did get an ocean view which was larger than the interrior rooms, that was nice. They did clean the room twice a day, that I could get used to.
we did not purchase an excusion for this port but rented a scooter when we arrived for $50 for the full day. We enjoyed riding around the island and seeing the beautiful sights. Waste of time was the shopping, kids came up begging for food and would not leave us alone. the parents watching didn't say a thing just allowed this. They looked healthy enough so don't think they were really starving. Just had to get away from them surrounding me while trying to shop.
It was SO relaxing. I walked the whole time around the island by the water on the coral rocks. We did it for hours and still felt we didn't see it all. Loved this island the best. Waste of time? Nothing. Lots of iguanas there too.
We rented a scooter and enjoyed checking out the city but it was very crowded. we did not do an excursion. A waste of time was the Belize Museum near the Belize Bank. $5 american and they only had a couple things to see.
we did a snorkel excursion and saw sting rays, puffer fish, star fish, moray eels. That was fun. By pass the main shopping and walk in a few blocks from the crowds.
