This cruise was our very first and was a gift from our son for our golden wedding anniversary. We were just simply overwhelmed at the personal
attention our cabin steward and our dining staff gave us. In fact the entire
crew just went out of their way to make us comfortable and assure our
total satisfaction. The captain of this ship steered us up the most wonderful
fjord, Tracy Arm, in order for the passengers to get a marvelous view of the
glaciers and all the beauty there. I cannot imagine any person doing that
narrow fjord so beautifully as did our captain on this ship, the Norweigan Sun.
The entire trip was like floating on a cloud and the good things just kept coming. I loved the casual dress most of the cruise but will admit it was so nice
to have a dress up evening for dinner and a show. The productions in the
Stardust lounge were equal to any broadway production I have seen in London
or New York. We loved the comedians, Sharkbait and Alex Jackson was also
great. His performance was clean yet he was hilarious. As for the fabulous
Fabio Zini .....EXCITING ? ABSOLUTELY !! We would actually book a cruise
just because he was entertaining on that cruise. This man plays his guiltar
with his heart and soul not his hands. Your cuise director on the Sun, Linda,
is just so great at what she does and never stops multi tasking yet never
misses a person nor a smile. All together..we have to say this was just the
most wonderful way to spend our anniversary and giving any one a cruise on
The Norweigan Sun would be the best gift they ever received..no matter what
the occasion. We thank you for the way you handled our embarkation and our
disembarkation. Our luggage was on and off immediately and efficiently.
I cannot wait for our next cruise to come about. You have made us cruise happy
people. Thank each and every one of you on board for all your wonderful care
and concern. Your people are people of integrity and honestly. Not once did we
worry about missing anything from our rooms or any place on board the ship.
We felt totally safe and hope this helps stop some of the bad publicity about
cruises being dangerous and unsafe. If you feel this way then take the Sun
for a spin. You will change your minds.
Sincerely and happily,
The Carpenters

Food and Dining

the food was delightful however all restaurants should be included in the cruise fare.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
all the staff was friendly and most of them remembered our first names. Did not have one person refuse to help us and some of them just absolutely were devastated if they felt we were not getting the best care possible and rushed to fix that for us. I would say that 99 % of your staff goes above and beyond.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

The only thing worthwhile here would be the train ride. The weather was bad,the wind was bad and the town was just boring. In fact we walked to one store and then went back to the ship and slept. We could not get any transportation in the rain even though it was just a short walk. A person w/out the ability to walk would be out of luck. You can skip Skagway for my part.
Don't Miss: it would be only the train ride if anything at all.

Pros: The stateroom was immaculate, the food incredible, the entertainment fabulous..We liked it all the most.

Cons: Very little not to like but if I had to choose..it would be the fact that all the restaurants were not included in the tour price.
