Parts of ship were nice, parts cheesy, many parts ok.

Pools for kids only, really. Laying out decks loud.

Casino good enough for a couple of visits (paid out reasonably at times).

Too many pay extra restaurants and not enough entertainment spaces.

Ports disappointing - mostly shopping. A lot of it the same just with "Belize" written on it instead of "Daytona".

The worst part was when bad weather came - yes, I know it happens and is a risk anywhere. BUT we were not updated and in fact were told we were at port by the TV station and got ready to go just to be told at the last minute we would spend the day at sea. Only the cheesiest "entertainment" ever to replace the day - didn't even stay a second day at the day's previous port - then refunded $15.13 for the missed port. NCL had to make more money. There has to be a lot of bad weather and they handled it poorly. Could not even trust them in bad weather. Yes, that tainted things and there is a GOOD chance it would taint yours, too.

Food and Dining

Provided food was good enough. Indian was great, desserts terrible.

Except for okay casino, the ship is boring and somehow not relaxing, either. "Art" in auctions and "shows" a joke.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Don't have kids but this made me rate it. The kids we saw seemed to have fun.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Very friendly on surface but lacked depth. Some diamond sales woman that looked like someone's aunt on the Jersey Shore was hokey, though. Don't know what kind of money is exchanged between that organization and cruise lines.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Although, the constant creaking and popping when sea was rough was nerve racking.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cheesy decor, small but I expected that.

Pros: The idea of it, Mayan ruins, balcony on blue water, casino

Cons: Norwegian Cruise Lines themselves, ship is boring

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.
