Shore Excursions:We tried to sign up for them right after we checked into our rooms. They were all full. I guess it's not as "FREESTYLE" as NCL claims after all. In the end we signed up for beach snorkeling tour in our first stop (since all the good ones were taken). When we got off the tenders, we waited had to wait 45 minutes before the group leader made an announcement to cancel the tour to poor planning and organization. We did get a full refund but had to hang around for a few hours doing nothing before waiting in line for another hour to go back to the vessel! One experience was bad enough to remember for a life time. We cancelled the rest of our excursions and decided to go FREESTYLE our way for every port stop instead of signing up for any of their tours. It worked out cheaper and better for the whole family. Freestyle Disembarkation: Now you can enjoy a more relaxed final morning on board. No more rushing, then vacating your stateroom and sitting around on the ship waiting to disembark. If you don't have an early flight to catch, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then wait in your stateroom for your disembarkation call. What we experienced:It clearly stated on our day 7 newsletter that, all passengers must leave the vessel no later than 10am. FREESTYLE CRUISING? More like FREESTYLE RUSH HOUR. What happened to the relax-in breakfast, and the tranquility of checking out at your own leisure?Well all in all, I give the ship 2 stars, one for the entertainment and the other for the food. The food was great with variety- pity some of the waitresses had problems communicating in English. Remember, the crowd after all is predominantly American. This was our first and last trip on NCL though others may have a different opinion.M. Fung and family
