Icebergs, glaciers, whales, bears, sea lions, seals and eagles and that was just the first day! Not exactly...but we saw all this and more throughout the week . We had wanted to visit Alaska for years and glad to have had this opportunity. I'll admit some of the reviews listed here caused some concern about what we should expect onboard the Star but our experience was without disappointment. Before we left home we tried to learn about anything considered extra and for us there were no surprises. It was week of fun, relaxation, and discovery. The ship and crew was outstanding. I can think of no better way or better ship to visit the Inside Passage.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Most of our meals were in the Versailles restaurant. It quickly became our favorite. The meals were amazing. We also dined in the Blue Lagoon, Aqua, and the Market. We chose room service most mornings. Outstanding meals served by a courteous and gracious staff. All mentioned dining was included in the cruise price.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended the stage shows presented each night and all were very professional and first class. My favorites were the "Band On The Run" musical and the RootBerry comedy jugglers.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent staff especially the waiters and waitresses in the Versailles Restaurant and our room stewards.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship inside and out. Well maintained with no obvious wear and tear.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were on deck 10 amidships and loved our room. A balcony is a must to experience the beauty of the passing landscape. During the times when the temp was cool, we could enjoy the magnificent views from inside our stateroom through the large sliding glass door the leads to the balcony.

Pros: Scenery

Cons: When it ended.
