Ship needs to be refurbished - Market Cafe is depressing, dark and dreary decor reminds you of an old hospital cafeteria. Food appeared appetizing but it was always cold possibly due to outdated serving trays.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food in dining rooms was very good - not so in Market Cafe (buffet)

3 out of 5
Too repetitive

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Found all staff to be very friendly especially female staff- they were always smiling.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Decor outdated - furnishings worn

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Uncomfortable bed, shampoo and soap dispensers not refilled, extremely noisy due to location directly under Market Cafe
5 out of 5
Took sightseeing tour offered by NCL - very interesting, but a bit expensive
5 out of 5
From port took bus into town - very interesting to mingle with the locals.

Pros: Great weather

Cons: Mechanical problems prevented us from visiting Acapulco and Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa. We visited Manzanillo and Mazatlan instead. Manzanillo was a waste of time - absolutely terrible! Mazatlan was ok - nothing special.

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.
