i was impressed by the size..i had studied the ships profile
several times befor boarding and knew just about where everything was..this is a good idea for anyone cruising, anywhere..

though there were a few surprises..after a few hours we were able to navigate the corridors easily from one end of the ship to the other..

there were so many things to do and see that the wife and i have already booked the exact cruise again in Jan 08..we did alot but, felt we missed alot as well.

btw..we did take this cruise in Jan 07 ..but, it was not one of choice so i picked the first one..

Pros: the size and cleanliness of the ship ..and the freestyle atomosphere

Cons: crew needs to be more engaging with cruisers

Recommends Norwegian Star? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
as good as any other ship we have sailed in the past..we had the singles made into one large bed..i just wish they would convert them back to singles during the day..
Service and Staff
though friendly and helpful..we felt they were not engaging enough..perhaps a language barrier?..

we did meet one gal working in the buffet..very engaging, talked about her life in Spain..

the wife and i went out of our way to speak to the head stewdward..we pointed out to the gals boss that this was the most wonderful crew member we have met on the cruise, etc,etc..the result of our rant to the boss the gal from Spain
was given the rest of the evening off..
Entertainment
enjoyed the cinema..i think we saw 3 movies..only to see them again in our stateroom..but, it was nice seeing reruns anyway.

during this time it was time for the NFL play-offs..atleast i enjoyed watching the games above the attrium on a wide screen..all the time drinking and acting stupid with my fellow male travelers..the wife spent her time zipping on
the luccious margaritas..

the shows were just OK..not bad but not vegas either
Children's Programs
early Jan..most kids and young adults must have been back to school..most of our fellow travelers were middle to retirement age..the few children we did see seem to having a blast at the shipboard activities
Food and Dining
we cruised in the first week of Jan..perhaps it was time of year..but, we had no problems getting reservations at the specialty restraunts..

one nite id choose a venue and next the wife would..the wife loves seafood and there were always a choice each day..even at the buffet..

esspecially we enjoyed the freedom to dine where and when we wanted..in the past we ve always felt rushed to eat..or having to schedule our daily activities around a particular dining time.

one thing was really nice..the Blue Lagoon..it was always nice to be able to catch a bowl of wonton soup in the middle of night when we got hungry..just like chinatown..
Ship Quality
OOPS..ive already said some of these things..with all the sanitizers aboard and crewmembers reminding us to clean our hands it felt like we were not only on a crusie ship..but, also inside a hospital..it made the wife and i feel very secure that we were not going to get sick.
