Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The Ship itself was huge, but the swimming pool overall was quite small on the top deck. They also feature numerous hot tubs but when your "baking" in the sun seemed like the pool was quite crowded (due to its size) most of the time. Other than drinking (where they charge you for soda $58 a person for the cruise!) Or gambling the cruise was more geared for the geratric crowd as all the "clubs and bars" were pretty much a slow paced theme, nothing me and my GF could really dance to.

Pros: Freestyle dining

Cons: Bands, lack of activities that appealed

Recommends Norwegian Star? No.

Ship Quality
It was a very clean ship and the housekeepers always made sure to leave a mint and a towel animal on the bed! :-)
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice, clean and always stocked. Stay away from the minibar unless you like paying near $10 for a tiny bottle!
Food and Dining
About half the resturants on the ship were "specialty" so they got to chrage you an extra 15-20 per head. Although the food was great I still felt a little slighted by this. The Cruise line also charges you an extra $10 a day on you card for tips (so you dont have to) but then turns around and also adds another 15% on your drink bill anytime you order something!! WTF?! If your planning on buying any alcohal in port think again as they seach your bag and confiscate it unitl the end of the cruise before you board each time.
Entertainment
Almost Half the activities on the ship are just show and sell, such as (learn about Jems...then buy some of our fabulous Jewlery from our shops, or Photo night activities where you can buy two photos of yourselfs for up to $20 a picture
Service and Staff
Always helpful when asked quesitons and always smiling :-)
