Review summary

The "star" was beautiful. We were very impressed with the professional and personal contact of the staff. They remembered our names and there wasn't ever a time when you walked by a staff person and they didn't say "hello". We loved the food, we were able to try many different dishes that we might not have tried in normal every day dining. The ship was very clean. There were many activities to do or just have a drink in one of the many bars. They seemed very organized when leaving the ship at ports of call. They kept us very informed on what to do when disembarking and even just the every day activities. We loved the ship!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We loved the food that we had while on the ship. We would have enjoyed trying some of the other "speciality restraunts", but found it extremely inconvinent to pay additionally for so many of the dining options on board. We felt as though there was such an expense for taking the cruise that we really shouldn't need to pay for so many additional dining experiences. We could have understood one or two, but four or five, we were disappointed with that.

We were very happy to see the Emperess Hotel. Our grandparents spent their honeymoon there almost 60 years ago! It was a wonderful memory to see them standing in front now, after 60years. Would have liked to spend more time in Victoria. We ate at Nautical Nellies, about 4 blocks from the Emperess Hotel and it was excellent, but a bit expensive and quite a wait, but good and a popular local spot.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We absolutely LOVED Skagway. We walked around the town, even in the rain, and had so much fun visiting the shops and meeting the people. We took the Yukon jeep tour and it was so amazing and beautiful. We loved our tour guide who let us stop so many times for beautiful pictures. He had so many cute and entertaining stories!
Don't Miss: Yukon Jeep Tour!!! *****

Ketchikan, Alaska

Beautiful city, but I wasn't as impressed with the "Duck" tour as I had hoped. I wished we would have shopped at more stores and looked around more on our own. Was a bit disappointed that we didn't have more time to spend in Ketchikan.

Juneau, Alaska

Pros: Relaxing, intertaining, and great food!

Cons: The amount of "specialty restraunts" that you had to pay additional for.
