I'm writing this review to warn other people. Do not book on Norwegian Cruise Line. The ship is very moldy, dirty and breaking down. NCL'S website and pictures are an extreme false representation.

Black mold in shower and toilet. Whole ship smells moldy, had to use my asthma inhaler 3x a day while on ship. Both my mom and I came down with sinus infections from mold. There was used dirty Kleenex behind couch, other peoples(different colors) hair on couch where I slept. The sleeper couch was severely bent and the mattress was 1" thin. Norwegian wouldn't give me a new/different mattress. There was a horrible noise coming from the pipes in shower constantly that sounded like a dentist drill. The shower clogged and backed up every use. There were dirty fingerprints all over bedroom mirrors. Some of the sheets on bed were ripped and worn very thin. The ship is old and very dated. The smell of mold was very hard to take. We paid for the penthouse(LEO)suite, which was over $5000 pp. We feel horribly taken advantage of, lied to. The pictures of the suite and ship on Norwegian Cruise Line's Spirit website are an extremely false representation of what the reality was for my mom and I. This dream trip for us was to celebrate her battle with Breast Cancer.

Dirty. Moldy. Not worth your time or money. VERY DISSAPOINTING. shower and toilet moldy, shower backed up constantly, horrible noise from pipes.

Warning: The NCL SPIRIT is moldy and dirty. If you have allergies and/or asthma, you will be ill the whole trip. The website pictures are highly misleading.

We were on the spirit in June, no problems at all, yes it is a little dated but the refit in the new year should fix it. Food and staff were marvellous

Oh corse the newer ships are awesome! The older ships aren't that great...especially one who hasn't had any renovation

Sailed NCL Breakaway in 10.23.16. Spotless. Clean. Amazing staff. Bought 4 cruiseNext certificates for a reason.

Yes! I love the cruise. Even had to have 2 medical evacuations and stop in a port of Sicily to bring a passenger to the hospital. I soooo wished I could have gone and explore that place. Missed Mykonos bc of the medical emergencies. It was exciting and I learned a lot! So much good fun

Just got off the Spirit on Saturday- it was incredible. Best cruise I've ever taken. The staff, food, ports, and ship itself, are incredible. The only thing that can make this cruise suck is a crappy attitude. So haters, leave your ego at the door, have a great time and appreciate the fact you will see some of the most amazing places in one trip. NCL has my heart ❤️

just ignore negative information about ship. I have seen it often about ships I have been on. you will not see any history about o it me but I have been on Norwegian, msc,cruise and maritime, Costa,and Hal.

Thanks for your review and pictures to prove what you said. People that disagree with you can be ignored, they were not on your exact cruise or in your exact cabin. It sounds like you were unlucky and had poor cabin staff that let the cabin get this bad.

I have been on a cruise that I would have given 5 stars, my buddy was in a different cabin and had tons of issues with A/C, plumbing, TV remote and door lock, he would have given 2 stars....same ship, same sail date, just different cabin.

I disagree. I have sailed on the Spirit 3 times, and thought she was a great ship. As a NCL Platinum member and someone who has been on more than 20 cruises, I know that sometimes things don't always go the way you want them too. When I'm on a cruise, I'm focused on having a great time, and don't let small petty inconveniences deter me. To slam a cruise line like this is unfair to other cruisers. I've found that the ship and crew have always tried their best to make sure their passengers have a wonderful vacation, and work very hard to make that happen.
