Cruisers take note.....
Norwegian Spirit Cruise Review to Bermuda
Review SummaryBesides the terrible smoke issue, the food was a "C" at best- the only superior food was in the elite restaurants that required a $25-$65 per person extra charge.
Not much presentation with the food- desserts very poor quality.
Seemed that the ship was trying to sell something at every event- even charged $55 per person for a "Behind the Scenes" tour.
The shows were also second rate- the last one being a crew :"talent show" with only 4 employees singing or dancing.
Add to that extremely rough seas traveling- (not the ship's "fault"), but contributing to the overall substandard cruise for us.
We wondered how much impact there was a a result of the mandatory gratuity added to each person's charges per day, inasmuch as gratuities are now portioned out by the cruise line, vs individual cruising customers giving monies directly to staff who had assisted them during their cruise.
Food and Dining
Previous cruise experiences for us demonstrated exceptional food preparations, presentation, variety, quality and menu- not so on this cruise- all of the aforementioned were severely lacking..... unless you were will to kick out hefty surcharges; those were the options and premium meals that were the daily fanfare previously MINUS the extra charges.
Service and Staff
However, between the smell of cigarettes, and the smell of vomit with so many passengers ill both coming and going, the environment for breathing purposes was very poor.
Cabin / Stateroom
Pros: Friendly cruise ship staff
Cons: Cigarette smoke EVERYWHERE!!!! Could not get away from it- smoke on balconies, eating areas, bars, casino so smoke filled that we could not breathe....
