This was our 2nd NCL cruise and 3rd cruise. I travelled with my 23 y.o .daughter. Embarquation was very tedious. we told them we were latitudes members and showed our numbers, but the guy on the pier told us it was a paid membership group and that we didnt belong, so we were forced to wait erroniously on the much longer line of first timers. It was a nice ship, but sold out so till people got the lay of the land, it felt very crowded. There was a nice selection of food, portions were small, and the one or two times the food was not edible, there were always alternatives to be had for the asking. our ports were a nice selection,- all but one were new to me. we went on 5 shore excursions of which i would say 50% were good and 50% could have been a lot better. the entertainment also was spotty. the ncl singers and dancers were great, but they got a bit mushy and overly patriotic (showing film of old nyc including the world trade center). i think they would have been better off keeping things on a lighter note. the family of tumblers were good esp the 2 very young kids. we had a ventriloquist / magician who was also great and a troupe from the 2nd city comedy club-- and they were excellent. the theatre had a lot of seats that seemed to be broken and uncomfortable to sit in without sliding off. most of the staff were friendly and pleasant and willing to please. there were some however who never cracked a smile and looked like they hated their job. the bar staff were particularly cranky, esp if you didnt buy a drink or asked for water. they should have undercover cruisers to recommend these staff be put behind the scenes where they dont have to deal with the passengers. our room was nice, but the beds were hard and the pillows lumpy. (and we tried more than 2 pillows). the bathroom was a nice size, as was the shower. i never hit my elbow once. the safe should have been located higher up. it was at the level of my shins, which made it hard to access and look into. the ship started out neat and clean but towards the end of the cruise, it seemed as if the kids on board would eat all over the place and deposit their dirty dishes anywhere they wanted-in the elevator, on the staircase, or on any shelf around. Casino was great, but got so smokey at times we had to find areas in front of the a/c to blow off the smoke.
wonderful cruise, but could have better
