My family and I just came back from a cruise on the Norwegian Spirit. It was a very disappointing trip!!! We have traveled on other cruise lines before and this was the worst so far. The Spirit is supposed to be freestyle dining, but we found that to be untrue. In order to eat in the restaurants, we needed reservations. The speciality restaurants had a cover charge. When we called for reservations, all the restaurants were booked and the person answering the phone was very nasty. The end result was that we were stuck eating hospital style food from the buffet area everyday. Also, whatever happened to the midnight buffet???? The crew members were very disorganized. When annoucements were made on the loud speaker, you could barely hear or understand them. The speakers in the cabins were turned off. When asked why they said "They do not want to disturb people that are knapping in the cabins". Going on and leaving the ship at the ports was very disorganized and chaotic. The itnerary was very bad. We were only in the Bahamas for a total of 5 hours where we should have stayed longer. There was a lot to see there but so little time. On the other hand, we stayed in on their private island overnight, which was a total waste of time, since we could not get on the island because one of the boats transporting the passengers broke. We were a family of 6 adults and a 2 year old that traveled this time. NCL should be ashamed at the prices they charge and that we had to pay for the 2 year old who barely ate and for that matter we barely ate as well. We would never recommend NCL to anyone. NCL should go back to traditional set times dining. Forget about freestyle dining because it really doesn't exist. We feel that we were robbed out of a vacation. We really wish we could get a refund.

Pros: The only nice thing I have to say about this cruise is that the Cabin Stewart was very nice and friendly!
Cons: Food quality, Freestyle dining, Disorganized and chaotic
