Great Staff! Unimpressive food.

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

We had a few days at sea between ports & they were boring, partly because of rain & everyone staying inside. They were not able to have an outdoor pool party on those days.

Days in port were great, but we would have liked to spend more time in each port even if we visited less of them. With some of the shore excursions, there wasn't much time to see the island(s).

Didn't like the fact that freestyle involved having to make a dinner reservation if you didn't want to eat at the Buffet or dress for dinner. Not sure if you needed a reservation for the main Dining Room & Garden Room.

Would have liked more healthy foods (buffet), like fish (besides the talapia, almost every day) & maybe tropical fruit & tropical fruit juice, since we went to tropical islands. During the first few days, orange juice was the only juice offered at breakfast. Then, they added apple & cranberry juices, still at breakfast only.

Staff - they really made everything seem better. They were excellent!!

Gym & Swim Spas were great & not always available on other ships. They were not overcrowded, either.

There is a Ma Jong room & it would have been nice to have an instructor available for this.

Internet access was very expensive at 75 cents per minute. They did offer some half price deals during certain hours.
There is also an outside area for basketball & golf practice. A card room & library were also available.

Great play areas for young kids indoors and out (we didn't have any with us) - they even had their own pool! Parents had to be nearby. Babysitting available while parents were on the ship.

Pros: The staff was excellent. Attentive to the rooms as well as the food areas.

Cons: The specialty restaurants were difficult to get a reservation in - Freestyle to choose any restaurant didn't work out very well & you end up at the Buffet which did not have enough healthy food, like fresh fish or broiled or baked fish. No juice available after breakfast - milk, tea, coffee & water

Recommends Norwegian Spirit? No.

Food and Dining
Difficult to get reservations in Specialty restaurants. If you get in, some are really good. Buffet was ok.
Nice Gym & Swim Spas! Not crowded either! Not enough to do inside, on rainy (at sea) days. No instruction available for indoor games - cards & Ma Jong.
Ship Quality
Nicely decorated. Some areas seemed older than others.
Cabin / Stateroom
Shampoo and soap dispensers instead of bars of soap & bottles of shampoo.
Service and Staff
What can I say? They really were the best!
