Review summary

I have been on at least 25 or more crusies and usually go on Carnival but this was a last minute decision and I will never go on another Norwegian cruise as this seemed to be a bargin basement cruise. I usually go on a cruise once a year but after this will reconsider my trips if this is the way that cruising has become.

Service was really slow and there was no variety on the menu's. They served the same food every night with the addition of one new menu item. The food was good but nothing to choose from. Plus there was no captain's dinner nor was shrimp served in any manner.

I did a lot of trivia and origami and things that were offered and the cruise personnel was awesome. Meet some really nice people.

if they did a multi million dollar renovation they did not get value for their money. Nothing seemed updated to me as you could still tell this was an old old ship

Room was the normal side for a stateroom

Ship tip

if you are a smoker don't take this ship as the smoking area is on the 12th deck with a few tables but only has umbrellas for shade when the ship is in port. if it rains there is not shelter

did not like getting bombarded with people wanting you to take their taxi's or excursions every 2 feet but then again this is the way it always is.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

what a joke there is nothing to do there except lay in a chair on their so called beach - yet Royal Carribbean was on the next island and had para sailing and looked like a lot more things to do from what i could observe. Guess Norwegian doesn't have the money to improve their island, I do not go in bodies of water not like to lay on the beach like sardines so i lasted about 20 minutes and went back to the boat

Private islands are traditionally beach days. RC's Perfect Day was the same until it opened this summer after years of work. Can't find your 25 cruises statement credible when you compare Great Stirrup to a brand new developed Perfect Day. The other cruise line private islands are similar. Looking forward to first (cheap) NCL cruise

The Norwegian Sky fat nicer than any Carnival ship I’ve been on. But as previously stated if you truly was a big time cruiser how come you haven’t reviewed any other cruise?

Love love loved it

Had a great time , the ship was very clean the food and service was great. Had dinner in the Italian Restaurant and was very happy it was delicious. The private island was perfect nice and relaxing !
