This is an excellent starter cruise. The ship is the smallest and oldest of the Norwegian Cruise Line and is scheduled for renovation this fall. It does not have many of the features that are common to larger newer ships such as a water slide\, climbing wall\, and large pool.

The food was excellent\, and we all enjoyed the freestyle format. Usually\, no lines. The evening shows were interesting\, fun\, and well produced. The rooms were exceptionally clean. We loved our balcony. All the ship's personnel\, from custodians to waiters\, were wonderful: helpful\, friendly\, efficient.

There were extra fees\, even on the NCL private island\, for doing anything other than standing in the water. We thought that inflatable rafts could be complementary rather than $30.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the freestyle format. The kids made extensive use of the constantly available soft-serve ice cream machine.

Entertainment

Great shows\, but not much else. Well\, we are not casino people.

Service and Staff

Exceptional\, all around

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Good layout\, but small without many extra features. Very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good room\, excellent balcony. Comfortable beds. Very clean\, with none of the smell that is common to land hotel rooms.

Pros: The evening shows were excellent

Cons: Not many active activities on board; extra fees

Recommends Norwegian Sky? Yes!
