A good first cruise experience

Sail Date: March 28, 2011

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

This was our first cruise and we found the staff to be very friendly. The layout of the ship was easy to figure out with the many diagrams available. The food was good. We did like the freestyle cruising aspect where we didn't have to eat at a given time, we could choose to eat when we wanted, something was always available. Our stateroom was comfortable and quiet and fit the four of us fairly well. The ship itself was kept very clean and attention to detail was excellent. The entertainment was terrific and our kids had a great time with the teen program. We were kept well informed re: ports of call, embarkation and debarkation information, entertainment and general information through the newsletters we received each night and through the PA system.

Pros: Staff was very friendly, teen program was terrific, ship was very clean

Cons: Dinner at Cagneys felt rushed, pull out bed in stateroom was broken and needed to be replaced

Recommends Norwegian Sky? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship was very clean, easy to get around and understand. Good size for a first time cruise.
Food and Dining
Always a good selection to choose from. We did feel rushed eating at Cagneys (next course was served before we were finished with the previous one)
Service and Staff
Staff was friendly and helpful
Farewell show and comedian/magician was hilarious
Children's Programs
Teen program was a hit with our 16 yr old son.
Cabin / Stateroom
Quiet and relatively comfortable for the four or us.
Nassau, Bahamas
Beautiful port and surroundings. Could walk to shopping and restaurants.
Don't Miss: sea scooter snorkeling excursion was execellent and beautiful
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
Beautiful beach. Beautiful island. Equipment available to rent. Lots of staff and good food.
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Beautiful beach and we ate at a great cafe called Agave - great local food. Needed to take a taxi to city center and beaches.
