Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Overall the ship was beautiful, the rooms well appointed, the staff attentive and friendly, the food very good. We had a balcony room and we loved the way the balconies extended over the side of the ship unlike on some other ships where the room is set back from the side of the ship and the balcony is flush with the ship. When the balcony hangs over the side, the views are much better. The swimming pools were ice cold, though, and there were not enough hot tubs. The specialty restaurants were just so-so, and the hostess at the Italian restaurant was downright rude the night we were there (all the other staff was consistently friendly and helpful, she was the only one).

Pros: The balcony room was awesome

Cons: The specialty restaurants weren't really worth it

Recommends Norwegian Sky? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The dining was excellent. The food quality overall was very good and the ability to go into any of the dining areas for dinner (either of the two dining rooms or the buffets) when we wanted to was wonderful. There were a few weak spots, though--the quality of the cheeses they used was not very good, for example, and they made their hot cereals (oatmeal and cream of wheat) really runny. But for the most part, the entrees and desserts were excellent and the menu changed daily in the dining room so there was plenty of variety. We never had to wait to be seated in the dining room no matter what time we arrived.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had to call for the robes that were supposed to be in our balcony stateroom, but once we called they were delivered promptly.
Service and Staff
Except for that one rude (extremely, horribly rude) person, everyone was wonderful.
Entertainment
There was truly something for everyone, from activities for small children to bingo to wild pub crawls for the heavy drinkers. They even had daily crosswords, trivia, and sudoku puzzles for the intellectuals among us and shopping seminars for more materialistic :)
