The Sky is a mixed bag.

Sail Date: March 13, 2009

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

This was not an expensive cruise. We got our money's worth. It took us a day to figure out where to eat and what to avoid. We went on the tail end of Spring Break, so avoiding the frat boys became a high priority.

Pros: Formal dining room. Specialty restaurants. Entertainment. Private Island. Staff.

Cons: Older ship. Buffet. Bahamas.

Recommends Norwegian Sky? Yes!

Ship Quality
Even though the Sky recently had a makeover, it is not a new ship. Long in the tooth in many areas. The upper deck (pool) is very average.
Food and Dining
Avoid the Buffet at all cost. What a cattle call. The main dinning room is well worth dressing up, and the specialty restaurants are worth the couple of extra bucks.
Cabin / Stateroom
Smaller and simply appointed, but functional. Again, you get what you pay for.
Entertainment
Better than we expected. The Cruise Director was a real hoot. The Comedian lost steam after 15 minutes or so.
Service and Staff
We found the staff to be excellent. We particularly enjoyed the staff in the main dining room.
Nassau, Bahamas
Second time to the Bahamas. Other than the open air market, a total waste of a day.
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
We really liked this part of the cruise. Not enough lounge chairs but it worked out. Volleyball and snorkelling were fun. Food was OK. Beach was good.
