Norwegian Sky (RETIRED) 139 Cruise Review
As a wedding party our group of twelve was personnally escourted onto to the ship at 11:00 am. Our beautiful wedding in the Obervation Lounge was perfect. And that was the start to a spectacular week. There were special activities for the honeymooner (not just those married on ship). We met several newlywed couples we plan to stay in contact with. We were given so much special attention it is hard to rate the regular dining rooms. However other family members really enjoyed the Four Seasons Dining Room. As for Alaska it was amazing. I will recommend a cruise to Alaska to anyone that can do it. Breathtaking! Whale watching in Juneau gave us an upclose encounter with a Humpback and her calf and in Victoria we were overwhelmed with "dozens" of Orcas many jumping and playing right next to our boat. It was beyound our wildest expectations. We were treated every afternoon to a congratulatory platter delivered to our stateroom, one day from the hotel manager a tray of hor d'ourves, one day from the captain a tray of chocolate covered strawberries and so on and so on. Even though we were honeymooning and of course it would have been difficult to displease us, the other family members found the service quite nice also. As well seasoned cruisers (over 30 cruises between the six couples in our group) we all agreed the week we spent on the NCL Sky was a great time. The few negative points I should mention are 1. We were not well informed about weather, sea conditions or our location. 2. Buffets were not great but it was not bad either it was fine, certainly plentiful and available almost continually.
