We are just your average honeymoon couple that sought out to have a nice, romantic getaway after our wedding in March. Our debarkation date was March 12,2000 aboard NCL'S Sky. We had never been on a cruise and were delighted to receive this cruise as a wedding present from my husband's parents. We got on board around 2:30 and the ship was supposed to leave at 4:00pm. We felt the paper work to get on the ship went smoothly, but everyone we talked to told us to get our keys from someone else! After we got them, and found our stateroom, we were satisfied that it would be fine for the week. It was not very big, but adequate, and we were able to find extra storage space under the bed. We were frustrated that as soon as we got on everyone had to be on deck for a lesson on what to do in an emergency. We stood there for about an hour in the hot sun until someone passed out and they released us! We found a few papers on our door entitling us to a free photo or $5.00 off the big photos (the ship only seemed to take one small one the day we got on the ship!) We also got a card entitling us to $100 onboard credit, but neglected to tell us that there were stipulations and restrictions, that we found out on our own on the 4th day...(we could only use it towards bar expenses.) We also were going to have appetizers sent to our stateroom one night before dinner. (We called and were told THEY would decide what night and we would not get a choice of what appetizers we could have.) Half way through the cruise we were 15 minutes late to our scheduled 6:00 dinner, when we got the appetizers, that we normally would have missed out on! But we later enjoyed our breakfast in bed on the day of OUR choice.
