We cruised on this ship in June of this year and everything was great. Based on that experience, we booked the 15-day Montreal to Miami cruise in October. Completely different. Food in the Big Apple, which is their buffet type, restaurant for breakfast and lunch was very mediocre, to say the least, and poorly presented. The desserts were few and terrible. No onboard entertainment until about 7:30pm each evening except in Gatsbys, which is a piano bar advertised as a cigar and martini bar, which eliminated most passengers. This was at 5:30pm.Some of the wait staff in main dining rooms were less than friendly. A very boring cruise with basically nothing to do on board. We really enjoy the Freestyle Dining and this was one of the main reasons we chose NCL. This was a strong point, along with the best main show lounge entertainment on any of the cruise lines that we have been on. (Holland America, Princess, RCI, Costa). Also, the majority of the crew except for a few waiters, were wonderful as was our cabin steward. We do plan to cruise on NCL again but probably will try a larger and newer ship. One other positive note, which we enjoyed on both cruises was the Le Bistro restaurant, which is an alternate restaurant with a small fee. Well worth it and excellent food and service.
